CLINTON, Iowa--On Friday, Janunary 18, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Union Pacific rail crossing on 300th Ave., on the east edge of DeWitt for a train vs. pedestrian collision.

Upon arrival deputies located a white adult female that had been struck by a west bound Union Pacific train.

The female, identified as Kristina Marie Johnson of Davenport was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office. The body will be transported to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for an autopsy.

The incident remains under investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
