Basement fire damages former Wheatland restaurant
Fire that appeared to have started in the basement damaged the former Mac’s Triangle restaurant in Wheatland, Iowa.
A volunteer firefighter discovered the fire, at 104 West Lincolnway, as he traveled to work at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012.
When more firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the building and flames were in the basement.
Firefighters from Wheatland, Calamus and Lowden fire departments fought the fire.
The cause and dollar amount of damage was not yet determined.
No injuries were reported.
