CLINTON, Iowa--A Clinton man has been sentenced to 360 months imprisonment as a result of being convicted of multiple drug and gun offenses. On November 30, 2012, Kendall D. Robinson was ordered to serve 300 months for drug trafficking chargesand a consecutive 60 months for possessing a firearm. In August of 2011, Robinson was indicted for conspiracy to distribute more than 280 grams of cocaine base (“crack”) between 2008 and August 12, 2011, possession of a firearm in furtherance of the conspiracy, and being a felon in possession of firearms.
A trial was held in July of 2012, after which Robinson was found guilty on all charges. The conspiracy involved
several individuals who distributed crack together in Clinton for nearly three years. At least two firearms were linked directly to Robinson. The judge preciding over the case, Judge Jarvey, noted Robinson’s history of violence
and drug offenses. Because of that, he found the need to protect the public from Robinson, thus imposing the thirty year sentence.
This case was investigated by the Clinton, Iowa, Police Department, the Iowa Division of Narcotic Enforcement, and the U.S. Marshal Service, and the case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
