Help build a house just in time for Christmas | Community Spirit

CLINTON, Iowa-This holiday season will be very special to one family in Clinton due to the hard work, dedication and generosity of volunteers from Habitat for Humanity Clinton County.
Work is progressing on completion of the Michelle Donahue family Habitat home at 111 29th Avenue North in Clinton. It is planned that the family will move in by Christmas, and they couldn’t be happier.
Building a Habitat home takes not only the donation of many hours of pouring concrete, pounding nails and painting walls, it also takes many gifts of materials and money. In keeping with the upcoming holiday season, the local Habitat organization has developed a Wish List. The items on this list will help to make volunteers’ work go more smoothly. That list includes: 5-gallon water jugs; EZ Up awnings to provide shade for workers; a hammer drill; sledge hammers; a plate compactor; a chalk line; and a 12-foot to 24-foot construction trailer. The items need not be new but must be in good condition.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, work usually takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays and lasts for approximately six months.
